The School Recycling Program

Here is how it works...

1. Register

It's easy to start! Select a program coordinator and call 1-800-866-3954 to sign up or register on our website here. Shortly after, ENVIRO-BAG® will send your school the materials needed to ship your sponsor's grocery bags, and instructions on how to promote the program to your students, teachers, parents and neighbors.

2. Recycle

Fill the recycle container supplied by ENVIRO-BAG® with clean "sponsor" plastic grocery sacks. These are a plentiful and consistent source material typically discarded by the millions each day. Each recycling container holds about 3,500 sacks or up to 50 lbs.

3. Pick-Up

The pick-up is easy, clean, and convenient! When the recycling container is filled with clean, rolled plastic sacks, (from your grocery sponsor) simply call us at 1-800-866-3954 to let us know you are ready to ship your grocery bags and we will schedule a pick-up from your school via United States Postal Service or Fed Ex Ground. You may also request additional recycling containers at any time. The program is on going and because there are no deadlines or due dates, the program is at your own pace.

4. Earn Money!!

Not only can you feel good about recycling, but you can also earn money for your efforts. Your local retailer will pay you up to $0.50 per pound for their plastic grocery sacks. The payments will be mailed on a quarterly basis.

ENVIRO-BAG® and your participating local retailer go further than just collection with this program. Together with your community's help they "Close the Loop". Your retailer actually sells the grocery sacks you have recycled (which have been made into the ENVIRO-BAG® Trash Bags). The marketing of the recycled product by your participating local retailer, along with your communities purchase of our trash bags not only "closes the loop," but also helps fund the School Recycling Program, and is a key element missing in many recycling efforts today.
